Side Stitch?

I’ve recently started jogging. I find that I often get a side stitch so I did some research and found that this pain is caused by the internal organs pulling down on the diaphragm. Although there doesn’t seem to be much agreement to why side stitches occur.

For me the best solution is take deep breaths instead of quick shallow breathes during my exercises.

Here are some other solutions that I find work well:

· Make sure you do warm ups before your exercises.

· Don’t eat anything within an hour of exercising.

· Stick to plain water for pre-hydration before exercise.

Does anyone else suffer from side stitches and what do you do to prevent them?
