Hello guys
Please help me with productivity issue?
I keep being distracted on the computer very much, and not doing the things that I planned for the day. (I planned quite a little of them, not many)
But I keep distracting on some youtube videos, other fun sites, and (sadly) porn too.
Could you help me on a way to stay focused on the PC and do only the things I should do?
Thanks.
I am an ADHD type, I stay very focused on art-related and design stuff, but when it comes to medial, rutine stuff like cleaning my house - it takes literally weeks to do.

Ask yourself what's important to you? What kind of emotions do you feel when you accomplish a goal? Feel those emotions, center your focus, and remember the rewarding feeling of a job well done.

Have you tried scheduling short blocks of time to work on something you don't want to do? Like use a calendar or alarm app on your phone, have a specific start and end time. I say short because it will seem less intimidating to get through, and you can always choose to work on it longer.

Also try using some sort of annoying reminder for the task to be done. Like a post-it note on the mirror or somewhere you're going to see it alot. Make not doing it more annoying than doing it.

Hello Konstantin!

Hey, I too have Adult ADHD. I am 28 years old and struggle with ADHD symptoms every single day.

I know exactly what it feels like to be distracted pathetically easy.

Brian Tracy is one of my favorite mentors as he talks about how to prioritize properly.

You have to get a pen and paper out and write down exactly what NEEDS to be done and draw circles around the tasks that have a CONSEQUENCE if you do NOT do them.

Also, regarding the distractions on the computer, a lot of it just comes down to the ability to DISCIPLINE yourself. You just have to step up to the plate and say NO to things that are taking precious time in your day, there aren't too many "secrets" to doing that.

Secondly, change the settings on your computer to disable notifications from email, messages, etc so your attention isn't constantly being tugged in many different directions.

Additionally, don't feel bad for watching porn. It's natural. Watching kid porn? Now that'd be a problem haha!

Brian Tracy also wrote a book called 'Eat That Frog' which talks about tackling your most dreaded tasks FIRST to get them out of the way.

So, if you really want to change how your day unfolds, don't even turn the computer on until chores around the house/apartment are complete. Blast some fun, upbeat music while you're doing those chores to make them more tolerable to do.

Once you discipline yourself to complete 1 task, #2, #3 and #4 will become easier because you're feeling GOOD about yourself and are feeling encouraged to keep going. Whenever you build momentum for getting things done, do NOT RUIN THAT ;)

I hope this helps as it has helped me greatly.
