Lies, deceit, destruction,
Tangled and strangled by weeds in the Garden of Life,
Feeling the torment of pain and anguish,
But lacking the strength to resist life's temptations,
Living a double persona, fooling everyone but ones inner self,
Self righteous acts ignored.

Looking for solid roots in a secure foundation,
Not knowing which way to turn,
Instead, feeling strangulation,
As the weeds wrap their wicked arms around your life,
Twisting and turning,
the web tightens its noose,
Cutting off all fresh air supply.

Like it or not, we are the gardener,
Only we can make the garden flourish and grow,
Be honest and true to yourself,
Believe in yourself,
Trust yourself.

A well-written poem with literary diction and impressive imagery. It's true that we are the owners of our lives and should be able to resist temptations on our own. Thought-provoking and well-done.
