personal growth

This quote is a life changing quote. It is an absolute truth in our world. And if you can embrace this message it will unlock immiediate transformational power in your life.
Too often in life our species tends to complain about the situaion we are in or the people in our life. We complain about the weather, about poorly skilled basketball teammates (this one is me), we complain about our children not living up to our expectations, we complain about our boss etc etc. I understand that we all complain. Some people complain because it makes them feel better, it lets them vent, or it’s a way to point out that the mistake is on someone else (thereby feeding their ego and sense of importance.) But as soon as you do that you lose a tremendous amount of power to change the situation. For example, if you’re playing basketball and your teammate is playing bad. You will get a much better outcome, you will have more power in changing the outcome, if you

motivate your teammate instead of complaining. Likewise, don’t complain about being overweight – find ways to motivate yourself to lose weight.
Take a look at things in your life that you currently complain about. Find at least 1 thing you can say or do to motivate change in that area. Now you’re in the realm of personal growth.

It was really nice to look at the brighter side of things rather than feel more bad about it. Better to think that all things happen for a reason cause it could give us more hope and strength to do more. All experiences do happened in our lives to make us strong, fruitful and more knowledgeable than before. So better to be more positive about life.

Yes, this is indeed a good word for realization in our present lives. This applies well to me since I noticed lately that I have so many problems to complain about. And I guess positive thinking is the best answer for this.

I think we have to stay positive as much as we can to be able to get through the hardships we are experiencing. And yes, trying to seek a good thing to a bad event in our lives would be a good start.

Rather than fret and whine, we better do something on the situation at hand and this is the only way we can produce really change and make our lives better. Of course, we all have this innate tendency to complain -- I think nobody is immune to that. But beyond complaining, we have to also act. This is the way to personal growth and to experience success in our lives.

For the most part I agree with the original post. I don't think it is quite so simple because it is not in black and white. What I mean is that I agree that complaining is focusing your energy on the negative, therefore giving away your own personal power. Of course you can not experience growth under that circumstance.

You all make very great points. My last year has been overwhelming with change. I do feel I have had many epiphanies. I am a very positive person and have taken something positive away from each experience. I am a strong believer keep your energy positive.
