Great read! Yes its possible as long as you have a clear vision of what you want you can make the best decision toward that goal.

I would answer this question by putting the same in context. Life is like a journey with lot of surprises. Imagine someone going on a safari hunting and you are also part of it. When you go on safari you expect a lot of surprises in jungles - it could be animals pouncing on you, inscent bites, thorns, etc. Imagine the Chief of the group decides that the safari has to be organized in such a way that all animals should stand in line. Secondly they should come one by one so you can take pictures or view them. Will that be fun? No a safari is supposed to be adventurous. This was just an example. Similarly if you go on a hike, a sport/game, etc the same uncertainty and unpredictability make is more fun ane enjoyable.
Similarly in life you ned to take decisions in varied situations and sometimes you will have to take no-so-ideal decisions and it could be good, bad or worse depending on the context and the goal you are working towards. Essentially taking good or perfect decisions in every situation is practically not feasible. People may say you need to be perfect but remember that these people are just fence-sitters who just try to do this good and when things are favorable and they may never attempt trying new stuff or learning new skills. So I'd say with reasonable room for error, you can take majority of decisions which would go positive, but never try to aim to be good all the time, because 'good' itself is dependant on context - for instance whats good for X may not be good for Y. So go with the path that leads you to accomplish you mission ethically.
