In Hill's book Think and Gr0w Rich, you are instructed to focus on one desire. How is this possible when you have so many?
I don't think it's that you stop having the other desires, rather you pick one that you're highly passionate about, and let the desire for that one consume most of your attention such that you're thinking about it all the time. When you practically get obsessed with wanting something, your mind will cause you move quicker towards it, you'll have more creative ideas, you'll be more aware of opportunities, and your enthusiasm is more likely to attract help from others. You can still work towards your other desires but if you split your mind too many ways I think you can be less effective in achieving any of them.
Yes it was hard to just have desire but I think it could mean reaching or getting one desire at a time. It would be harder to aim more several desires at the same time and being focused can make it possible to have them one by one.
The idea here is learning what to prioritize and give your all for the fulfillment of that desire. One great lesson I learn so far is never be a victim of imperial overstretch. No matter how we desire to multi-task there comes a time when we are already becoming less effective because we are losing the focus necessary. Go for one that can greatly affect you and your future and allot a great time for that.
Exatly as AMAZINGP said. You have find out what IT IS that you want the most and then put all of your energy into that. All great individuals do this. Bill Gates- Computers Steve Jobs-Computers Oprah- TV Micheal Jordan- Basketball Tiger Woods -Golf All the greats make their desire-their lives. This is what Mr. Hill meant
Also known as definiteness of purpose. Without it, your energy will be dissipated. It takes everything you've got going in one direction to do great things!
