While many people especially in Asia are spending money to look fairer, when it comes to veggies and fruits it is the other way around – the darker the better. It is because according to many experts the darker the color of vegetables and fruits the more vitamins they might have.

I am then suggesting that we go for some spinach, collards, and kale in our diet. These foods are rich with nutrients which our body can use everyday yet they are low in calories so we can eat them all the time. Of course, you have a whole range of veggies and fruits to choose from and you can be adventurous anytime.

This time…dark can be healthy! :D

This is true, but I had always heard that you should have a rainbow of fruits and veggies in your diet. For instance, citrus fruits are full of vitamin C and D and I'm having a hard time thinking of one that's dark. Eating an orange with something like spinach, which is very high in iron, is the best way to absorb that iron. Vitamin C aids in the absorption of iron, which is mixing a lighter fruit with a darker veggie.

So that's what I've always gone for. An array of colors, dark or light!

I thought that you were writing about dark chocolate. "o) Another story. I think that I have heard that somewhere, but never the less, I think when you are eating vegetables, you are helping your body in a good way. So grab those dark veggies and enjoy. Cheers.

I've also heard about the rainbow colors but I've also heard about the darker veggies but not exactly dark more darker green. The darker the green, the more nutrients they contain. I think it has something to do with the amount of chlorophyll that is in dark green veggies. The darker the green the more chlorophyll they contain and I guess chlorophyll must be a great nutrient.

Well, you must be a little tired of the massive promotion involved with dark chocolate which can also be good for our health using a little moderation. There is no question that our bodies will be happy if we are regularly eating those dark veggies. And much better if we can find a way to grow them on our own organically. :D

It was like in green leafy vegetables, the darker the color of the leaves, the fresher it look. :p
And yes good thing that we have wide variety of fruits and vegetables to choose from. And it was on us to choose healthier foods and try to include those in our diet on a regular basis.

Funny, AmazingP, I told my sister years ago, that the best thing they could do for themselves, would be to purchase a home with ground, so they can grow their own vegetables. That is what two of them did and they grow their own vegetables now every year. Such a good thing.
