Have you thought about what you want to be doing in five years' time? Are you clear about what your main objective at work is at the moment? Do you know what you want to have achieved by the end of today?

If you want to succeed, you need to set goals. Without goals you lack focus and direction. Goal setting not only allows you to take control of your life's direction; it also provides you a benchmark for determining whether you are actually succeeding. Think about it: Having a million dollars in the bank is only proof of success if one of your goals is to amass riches. If your goal is to practice acts of charity, then keeping the money for yourself is suddenly contrary to how you would define success.

To accomplish your goals, however, you need to know how to set them. You can't simply say, "I want" and expect it to happen. Goal setting is a process that starts with careful consideration of what you want to achieve, and ends with a lot of hard work to actually do it. In between there are some very well defined steps that transcend the specifics of each goal. Knowing these steps will allow you to formulate goals that you can accomplish.

I agree. You need to know where your going on order to reach Your destination. Sitting around doing nothing will get you nowhere.

There are tons of methods that people teach about goal settings. If you feel unsatisfied and want to get something done with your life, then you need to have goals.

Taking a night for yourself, thinking about what you really want out of life, what are your dreams and aspirations. That is not actually as easy as it sound, if you haven't done it before. I'm speaking from personal experience. But once you have your dream written down, you can use it as fuel to thrive towards your goals. Every time you feel down or life gets too hard, then you can look at your dreams and then you start to remember why are you doing the thing that your doing.

In my opinion, one way to keep good track at your dreams and even goals is to have a vision board or dream board. I have one and every time I look at it, I get fired up and want to get moving again, towards my dreams. There are tons of information about dream boards as well. Just search google. Here's one article I read a while ago.

I completely agree with where you're coming from man.

I found with myself I run so many different ventures, I've been investing in stocks since I was 16, I run my own company (Inception Innovations Limited) and I recently launched a website explaining to people exactly what they need to do to get going. The most important thing is though that you just do.

I did a piece on it recently called "Rich Man. Poor Man."
