These weird contraptions come from eBay. Personally, I've bought the nose clip and slimming mouthpiece before because it was $1 shipped. Unfortunately, I lost them shortly after my purchase so I don't know if there's any legitimacy to their claims. In the short time I was using them (about 2 weeks), I felt the nose clip didn't do anything. The mouthpiece has potential since I did feel some resistance. This nose clip claims to be able to shape the malleable cartilage in your nose. You're supposed to wear it for 20 minutes a day and you might notice your pudgy, wide, shapeless nose become thinner and sharper. This Japanese contraption is supposed to give the facial muscles around your mouth a workout and slim your jawline. It also claims to make you smile easier. It's called the Noble Slimming Mouthpiece. This face roller claims to roll away your facial fat and increase circulation in the face for a better complexion. This is a ripoff of the T4A appliance. It claims to stop mouth breathing and straighten out mild cases of overcrowding and overjet. I think it may work on growing kids if it does indeed break the habit of mouth breathing but I'm skeptical of it working on adults. Mouth breathing is the worst habit a child can have. It will completely ruin a face if not stopped.
These are very interesting, always so many odd but interesting inventions coming from Japan. I guess you'd really have to want the results to put up with using one of these for long periods of time. I wasn't aware of mouth breathing problems with some kids, I just assumed everyone used their noses, I wonder what the negative impact on the face looks like?
Yeah, a lot dedication is needed to see some results. A lot of these tie in with common beliefs like pinching noses to achieve a slimmer nose or facial massage to compress fat cells. Kids who breathe through their mouths often do so because they have allergies, asthma, enlarged tonsils or adenoids. Mouth breathing kids usually have dark circles under their eyes, snore, and tire easily from sports or school. Breathing through the mouth decreases the oxygen concentration in the body because the NO that is usually added as air passes through the nose is absent. The open mouth position drops the tongue to the bottom of the mouth. This leads to a narrow, high palate and a V shaped dental arch that results in overcrowding with overjet. The head also becomes tilted to support the mouth breathing position. In severe cases, the face also becomes elongated and narrow, resulting in the long face syndrome. A gummy smile may also develop. Mouth breathers: These are just children; adult mouth breathers will look worse. The girl, aged 6, (on the left) actually had a normal facial structure. You can see how her face became narrower and longer within just 3 years of mouth breathing. Compared to a nose breather with a normal facial structure:
I think I would rather not to use or buy these things as I am no longer need to enhance or repair any of my face lol. I wonder why Japanese tends to create this things? But I bet people would still want to use this due to the fact that they want to look good to people right?
You know what, Japanese are really known for these odd gadgets or contraptions. In almost all areas of physical improvement -- you name it and they got it. I even saw an ad for a height increaser machine and a bald head sprayer. These might come to us like funny products like that nose clip but we should know that these are best-sellers in Japan.
