Fear is nothing more that False Evidence Appearing Real. Fear keeps us in the background. It tends to convince us we can never achieve our dreams, goals and aspirations. It tells us to keep quiet and separates us from the thing we love. Fear has an unparalleled ability to squeeze us in our tracks and limit what we are willing to try. As a matter of fat, fear makes us live a small life. Fear can be defeated because fear is a learned reaction. My coach once told me that we are only born with two fears: the fear of falling and the fear of loud voices. Every other fear we have is learned like the fear of rejection, the fear of failure, even the fear of success. Does that sound incredible? Yes, it is. In order to defeat fear, all you have to do is to learn to manage it. I have read Zig Ziglar on numerous occasions saying “courage is not the absence of fear but the master of it”.
I like that "False Evidence Appearing Real", good way to remember the points you make. I wish I had learned to let go of fears so much earlier in my life. It's unfortunate that a simple matter of perspective can hold one back in life so much.
"My coach once told me that we are only born with two fears: the fear of falling and the fear of loud voices." Nice that I had learned something new for me here. I also believe that we can overcome our fear like if our motivation and eagerness is bigger than the fear itself. I also like this "courage is not the absence of fear but the master of it" since having courage does not mean you do not have even a small fear within yourself, you just overcome it.
Fear is certainly a mental hinderence. If you can conquer it, you are in the driver;'seat. Let go and fly free, fear only takes away your time and holds you hack from reaching your potenial.
I also believe on the same definition of fear. The more we understand the ways we acquire so many types of fear in our lives, the more we are equipped to understand and master this powerful menace. Although I understand that fear is installed in us for a reason, we should never let it be a controlling influence as it can become our comfort zone that can trap for a lifetime. When we are dying, it would be a tragedy to learn that we let fear preside our life.
